Last week Brendan had vacation bible school at his old preschool. It was even more fun as almost all his friends from daycare went too. They crammed tons of fun into three hours each day and had lots of art and projects to bring home every day. The end of the week and weekend brought the stomach flu for him so that wasn't as much fun...
I opened the blinds in our room last week and saw this red-tailed hawk sitting on our deck. I'm sure I emailed the pictures to about everyone I know, but here they are again - just in case you missed them ;) I took tons of pictures and kept waiting for it to fly away, but it just stayed there for over an hour. Aiden banged on windows, I opened blinds in the kitchen right by it, it seemed content to just sit there even though so much was going on it the house. The cats never noticed it, but every time they walked by the windows or patio doors it puffed up and got very intent. We ended up leaving to get Brendan from bible school before it left.

On Friday, our nephew Bryce came for a visit from WI. He was in time for lunch and a tour of Wellyn's company. After that they headed to some computer center that apparently has "amazing" deals. That night was when Brendan came down with the stomach flu so we didn't do too much the rest of the evening. They were up bright and early playing legos though!

And then we put him to work helping on the shed area.

Brendan, with a little more dirt on the shovel than he can handle.

Bryce coming to the rescue.

Finishing off the retaining wall that will be behind the shed.

Aiden was very serious about shoveling dirt into his wheelbarrow.

Saturday night we went downtown to eat and walk around to get a look at the new Twin's stadium that is being built. There was a UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship ??) fight in town at the Target Center so we walked over to see how much tickets were - the cheapest were $52, the best were $600 - yeah, we kept on walking... We went to the Stone Arch Bridge and had some ice cream - a bargain at $5 for all three of us! From the bridge you can see the 35W bridge that is being rebuilt from last year's collapes as well as the old flour mills. There are locks by the bridge and we say them drain and open to allow a small boat in to be raised up. Overall, a very cool time.
